At the outset of our work, company facilities needed upgrade and there was no short- or long-term incentive structure linked to any specific performance goals. Management and the board were committed to ambitious and rapid change. At the same time, there were external economic challenges and government agencies and regulators to contend with. 

Working with the board, Our team conducted a comprehensive review of priorities and performance requirements according to goals identified by the board. We helped design a short-term incentive (STI) plan with unprecedented goals for the company to improve environmental performance and the recruitment and retention of talent, particularly among women. We designed and helped implement a long-term incentive plan that introduced ‘ownership’ to a wide group of key employees, was innovative in design, tax effective and—importantly—linked to the stakeholder goals set for each annual STI cycle.
