A new long-term plan focusing on financial performance and Relative Total Shareholder Return (RTSR) was implemented. The plan was recalibrated for good pay-for-performance alignment and TSR gateways established. A modified short-term plan created corporate and business unit ties, defined adjustment mechanisms around weather, and defined ESG metrics of safety and diversity. Also Implemented was a rigorous goal-setting process in short- and long-term plans to balance external expectations with internal budgets and plans.
Results included improved first quartile financial performance, significant ESG accomplishments, including diversity, and a Say on Pay turnaround from 72% to 98% support.
